Updated today to Version 1.1.4.2757 and Now my LG TV says NO FILES but shows PLEX SERVER

Hi, was loving everything about PLEX but after the update today my TV shows PLEX SERVER but says can’t connect - if I browse to the server in ‘INPUT DEVICES’ on my LGTV it says NO FILES. No other changes have been made to my TV or PC. I have restarted the server but still no luck. I can access plex via other PC e.g my laptop. Is there a fix or a way to undo the update? many thanks in advance for ideas???

I’m getting the same thing. It works fine on every other device in the house. iPads, phones, playstations, laptops.

I have the same problem. Worked before the Version 1.1.4.2757 update. Now the TV says “No files found”
Kind of weird considering the PS3 can see all the folders over DLNA.
I’ve beeen working on this for quite a while. The only solution I’ve found is to revert to the previous version of Plex Media Server

Here’s a link to the previous version of Plex Media Server thanks to zamanfu123 in the Plex forum.

I really wish there were an edit button.
Plex-Media-Server-1.0.3.2461-35f0caa-en-US worked for me.

thanks for the replies. I’ll try the old version again.

While loading an old version (if you can find one) will take care of the issue you’ll be stuck on that old version forever. Just about every Ninja, Employee, Plex Enthusiast or Semi-Power-User will tell you that’s not really a good idea. Updates, while sometimes painful (like going to the Dentist), are ultimately fairly important (if you ever want to eat peanuts again - or use Plex to it’s full potential).

The BEST way to handle the issue currently is to whitelist the ip addresses of your clients that can’t sign in and here are the detailed instructions:

Hi Thanks all! I hadn’t got to reinstalling an older version yet so I tried the suggestion by JUICEWSA. I added the IP of the TV to the devices that don’t need auth and all back to normal!!! great stuff! Thanks JUICEWSA

Hi all,

I had the same issue after an upgrade with my LG and now it is solved by adding my IP subnet into the IP whitelist.

Thank you.

With version 1.1.4 of Plex Media Server or later, it is not necessary to whitelist the whole subnet. So for the LG TV Medialink / Smartshare issue just make sure your LG TV IP Address is fixed (static outside DHCP Range or DHCP Reservation) and enter that IP Address in the List of IP Addresses and Networks that are allowed without auth. Make sure there are no spaces before / after

Thank You! This solved my issue with my theater TV.

Thanks for the info, It worked for me too!
