Server Version#:v.1.41.4.9463-630c9f557
Player Version#:Web Player
I setup a new Intel based Mac Mini OS15.3 running Plex media server. I am using the web player on Safari. Everything worked fine for two days, then the Web Player reported that the Mac Mini is not authorized, but the Mac Mini remains in the authorized list. To get it working I must delete the Mac Mini from the authorized list, restart the Mac Mini, and use the Open Plex menu to authorize the server. It will work for two days, then I must start the process over again. Can any one help with this?
what exactly does error say and is this via IP or app.plex.tv
Thanks for responding. I reset it yesterday so it is working today. Tomorrow it will display the error again and I will post screenshots.
I have the Mac Mini connected to an HDMI port on the TV. I use the Plex Server app menu and choose “Open Plex”. Safari launches and PlexTv opens in a Safari window. This is the screen:
I then click on the Movies or TV Shows icon on the left that have the yellow error triangle and get his error screen:
As you can see here, the Mac Mini is in the approved devices:
I must delete the Mac Mini from the approved device list and restart the Mack Mini. Then I select the “Open Plex” menu again, sign in, and the Movie and TV shows are available for 2 days. Please let me know if there is any further info I can give you.
Since you are on a Mac make sure that Plex Media Server has local network access in System Settings>Privacy & Security>Local Network. Those yellow triangles means it thinks the server is offline.
If you have Verizon, Comcast Xfinity, At&t (i think there is another) you may have to turn on their “internet security” (Cant remember what they they call it).
Plex has local network access turned on. I tried all of the Verizon settings and the problem persists. For years Plex worked perfectly using the same setup with an old Mac Mini running High Sierra and my current Verizon internet. I installed a new Mac Mini so the OS could be upgraded to Sequoia 15.3. That is when the trouble started. I tried setting up Plex with a new account, and a fresh Plex Media Server which rebuilt my database. Still I need to delete the Mac Mini from the approved device list, restart the Mac Mini, and use Open Plex to get ownership of the server. Given your answer. I guessing that I m out of luck.
