"Something went wrong." and "Not authorised"

Computer: Mac Mini M2 Pro and Mac OS X 15.0.1

“Fresh” system, never had Plex installed on this machine. Downloaded the Plex Media Server and when clicking on the “>” icon in the top bar and selecting “Open Plex” I’m getting the “Not authorised” message.

Been following the troubleshooting guide to claim the server, removing the entries from the com.plex-file, but it doesn’t fix anything.

I can browse to http://localhost:32400/web/index.html#!/ and see random content, but going to http://localhost:32400/web/ forwards me to http://localhost:32400/web/index.html#!/setup/ which gives the not authorised.

Any ideas? I don’t have Little Snitch or anything like that installed. Just want to make it work on my local machine.

After finding a hint in some area of the Internet, I got it working by both enabling wifi and disabling ethernet. Doing only one of these didn’t work for me. After doing this, I got to the setup server page, etc, and now it’s all good!
