Always get an error when trying to install Plexmedia Server on Mac

I had a version, but had to re-install macOS, I went on to Plex.tv to my account and deleted all previous servers for that machine, I get an error, then on retrying I get

" Not authorized

You do not have access to this server.

You may be able to claim it by choosing “Open Plex…” from the Plex menu in the macOS menu bar or Windows system tray. For more troubleshooting tips, see our ."

If I follow the instructions and do
steve ~ % defaults delete com.plexapp.plexmediaserver PlexOnlineHome
steve ~ % defaults delete com.plexapp.plexmediaserver PlexOnlineMail
steve ~ % defaults delete com.plexapp.plexmediaserver PlexOnlineUsername
steve ~ % defaults delete com.plexapp.plexmediaserver PlexOnlineToken

I then restart the app and a web page opens, I sign in and access my user/PIN

“Initialising Plex Media Server…”

Then

“Something went wrong. Make sure the server is available and try again.”

My Documents/Desktop are actually on iCloud (macOS Ventura 13.6 (22G120)) iMac i7

Then try and access web interface again

have you clears cookies site data for app.plex.tv in browser? Are you on a VPN or anything?

I’m not sure what this statements means in relation to server, since no server components are on Desktop

Tis is Plex Media Server running on macOS (Ventura), I just stated re iCloud as some programs have had issues with it.

I’ll try and clear cookies and try again, this is locally on the same machine I’m trying to install Plex Media Server so no VPN or anything.

OK tried again with all cookies cleared, exactly the same issue, if I clear caches after the failure, select user etc I’m Putin the config of another server of mine

Are you using a router or is your computer connected directly to the modem? Looking at your account it appears like the server cannot report the local IP to plex.tv.

router, internal network is 192.x.x.x router via static IP 45.x.x.x

internal machine trillian.domain.org external ford-ext.domain.org

The router NAT’s the internal connection via its public (static) IP but the Mac has an IP address and there’s no outbound filtering/etc. No idea how to continue?

are there any server logs being created at all?
