I wanted to start a discussion before this change is widely rolled out to the other plex player versions. Currently on ios media backgrounds change color based on content and become blurred. I think this presents a huge problem for users who like myself spend lots of time meticulously picking background art for their media and collections. I think it would be a mistake to add this “feature” without giving users the ability to turn it off like we currently do on the web app. Pl
ex has always been about user control over personal media, and it would be a great loss if we could not enjoy our background art while browsing our content. I’m curious what the plex community thinks about this recent change please voice your thoughts here.
We haven’t forgotten about background art, we have some big plans for it! Those who read our blog might have seen a little tease recently

Thanks for the quick reply holy cow I read that earlier and completely missed that tease there consider me impressed and no longer anxious about my background art! While I have your ear I have another question are there still plans to make the actor profile pics clickable on android platforms like they are on ios? I find that feature incredibly useful!

Yes, there is a plan for that, and with the new TV Agent (currently in beta), we’d be able to also link cast and crew across different libraries and media types too! It’s still on our list to do
