Please Provide A Way For Us To Report Bugs That Allows Private Information To Remain Private

As a retired software product manager, I am just appalled at the lack of a remotely sensible way for us to report bugs. I get that you want logs – although you certainly could be nicer to the people that take the time to report bugs to you.

If you want us to help, please provide us a one and done process. Currently, we post the bug and usually it will be days, weeks or never that anyone responds. We have to wait for that because we want to keep our private information private. We can’t do anything with logs or other files until we have someone to direct message.

At a minimum, there should be a standard user (say “Plex Logs”) that we can direct message when we post the public bug report. Obviously, there would need to be a way to cross reference.

Anyway, I am probably known as a complete pain in the butt when it comes to reporting bugs because of your lack of the most basic communication abilities for a software company – bug reports. I am not going to become any easier to deal with until this obvious deficiency is rectified.

I agree. For me the biggest problem is attachments being public. Most other sites/systems, where you include attachments for support in a public UI. You’ll have an option to mark them public or private.
