Please Remove obnoxious “Activity by” and Sharing Banner

For years Plex users have complained that the movie/show/episode description box is too small and not enough metadata info is being displayed on item detail screens.

And now an ugly and obnoxiously large banner has been added to tell me what users have played the movie/show/episode or to show me a QR code to share an item with someone else.

I think it’d be nice to have this info but it shouldn’t be taking up the amount of space it currently is. An “Activity” button in the same row as “Play”, “Add to Watchlist”, etc. would be sufficient.

It also shouldn’t be telling users there’s been activity if that user is the only one who has watched an item. My library is now full of these banners telling me that I’m watching the item. We already have watched status, this is unnecessary.

If there has been no activity it is entirely unnecessary to show a huge banner telling people to share something (especially when you don’t even have the feature ready and are just showing us a QR code.)

While I’m on the topic, the item title should be lined up with the users icon on the sidebar and not with the search icon as it currently is. This would give back valuable space.

You can remove it for your account if you want in Discover settings

Cool.

It still doesn’t need to be as large as it is. I mentioned it would still be nice to see this info, just not the way it is presented with this overly large banner. Nor should it be showing activity if it’s only from the current user.

Edit: Forum user se56, please stop DMing me every time you don’t like something I’ve posted. The message they sent me was solely so they could be snarky to discourage me posting without others seeing. Ignore the revisionist nonsense below.

Is that not part of a discussion

posting in the forum is part of the discussion.
sending PMs sounds more like you don’t want the public to see what you are saying, bordering on bullying and intimidation

if you have something to say then say it where everyone can see it.

No bullying just being a bit considerate
