Plex 1.0.2.2413 is not plating MKV remotely.
I am going to have to roll back again. I was really hoping the latest update would sort these remote issues.

Can you explain exactly what’s happening? Also, provide server log and client log so we can see what’s happening.
Close Plex server. Restart Plex server. Wait two minutes. Attempt to play back a file remotely (I assume you mean via remote access). When the error/failure happens, wait one minute then close Plex server. Upload Plex Media Server.log and the applicable client log.
I’m running 1.0.2 and I can remotely access all my MKVs via my Nexus 6P, so also include your system configuration (Plex server, client, etc).

You can go to https://support.plex.tv and then do a search for logs - that will give you links to all the log files for various devices.
I noticed the latest update doesn’t play files in the Plex Web Client, where the same files play via Plex HT. Perhaps you could try a few different clients.
OK, so the issue I have is when I remotely play from my IOS device, I can access my server, I can browse the content, however when I play a movie, it just stops and offers me suggestions on what to play next.
System config is a Dell server, with Windows server 2012 R2 running plex media server 1.0.2
I know its to do with file type as well because my optimised versions work and then the original file doesn’t
Just tried playing and the latest part of the log was this

@FILMNIGHT365 I keep previous version on my server downloads.
I have also just tested with a TV series Ballers.
Played the original file and it did the usual, playing then stopped, then im back at the menu.
Played the optimised version and it worked.
Log attached.
What is also interesting now is I have just tested from an Android phone and it won’t play either versions.
Ok, I have setup a test server.
It works straight away regardless of files type and on the same version of Plex Media Server.
I am thinking it must be linked to the metadata.
Tried building new metadata and I just get
Playback for this item could not be created
I’m at a loss here guys
Created a new user account and that worked.
This is a nightmare considering the amount of series I’m half way through on…
Will have to rebuild at some point
I tried everything, building new metadata, reinstalling, I found rolling back (available in your plex install location under updates) solved the issue but meant I could not use the latest version of plex media server.
To resolve the issue so I could use the latest version, I had to start over. I created a new local user account on my server and installed plex media server, added all my folders and categories and believe it or not, I am able to stream remotely now without any issues.
The good part about all of this was the new covers in found from fan art and the fact everything works fine remotely.
