Plex update killed MKV playback

Ever since the latest Plex update (or was it the one before(?)) MKV files are no longer playable.
is there a way I can revert back 2 updates?

Version 1.0.0.2261

After doing some research I found out that plexmediaserver_0.9.16.6.1993-5089475-debian_amd64.deb is the latest version that works well. How can I revert back to it? Is there a download link anywhere?

Asking the same thing. After installing Plex 1.0.0, it seems there’s no way to downgrade. I pulled a copy of 0.9.16.6 from my backups, but I’m blocked from downgrading. I’m facing losing all of my custom metadata to uninstall and reinstall just to get MPG and MKVs working again.

No problem playing MKV here, so it’s not universal.

Ya, I’m running PLEX on my Netgear ReadyNAS 516, version 1.0.0.2261 right now and it works great. In fact most all of my files are MKV’s!!! Since I ripped most of my Discs using MakeMKV’s which works great for ripping DVD’s, HD DVD’s and Blu-Ray discs. Then I use handbreak to shrink them down some more. So I’mnot sure what’s going on. I guess it’s a case of having to dig into the Logs.

Make sure you aren’t using the noexec option in fstab https://forums.plex.tv/discussion/comment/1204390/#Comment_1204390

I fixed the issue by essentially stopping all plex services and restarting them.
