Plex 3.109.2 Direct Play Freezing Video

Server Version#: 1.16.4.1469 running on Windows Server 2016
Player Version#: Plex for Samsung 3.109.2 / Tizen 2.4.0

Server Logs: Plex Media Server Logs_2019-08-18_22-07-29.zip (1.3 MB)

I tried the following in trouble shooting:
Direct Stream = Seems to be fine no freezing
Transcoding = Seems to be fine no freezing
Direct Play = Freezing need to exit and start video again, or wait a while the screen will go black say buffering and start again. This did not happen before the latest app update.

I have uninstalled the app and reinstalled it as well. Also unplug the TV to clear cache same issue.

Any update on this issue?

  1. The latest supported Plex app for Tizen is version 4.1.1. Consider upgrading.
  2. There was a bug with server version 1.16.4.X which was talked about in many threads. Upgrade to 1.16.5.1554.

  1. I did upgrade to 4.1.1 and the problem persisted.
  2. I also did a server update the one right before 1.16.5.1554 and problem persisted. However a I just saw and applied 1.16.5.1554 to my server. I will test when I get home and if the problem persists I will upload the logs again.

1.16.5.1488 was reported as still having a problem. 1.16.5.1554 fixed the issue for many. Good luck.

So far so good with the latest server update.
