Hi
I was wondering if Plex will still use the HTTP API for remote controls and such?
My development on the aRemote for android browsing parts are put on ice since I don’t feel like “wasting” a couple of weeks of spare time if plex 9 uses a completely different solution.
Any hints on what we can expect to see in the http api department?
p.s. Great screencast and that combined with the new Aeon screens makes me feel like a kid before x-mas
While the old HTTP API will still be available for the time being, we’ll be providing a new remote control API as part of the media server. It’s REST-based, very simple to use and integrate into other apps, and provides a few extra features that weren’t available in the old API.
Great, So I’ll just wait for that before doing the browsing stuff
Sounds interesting, I'm seriously considering to contribute to the community with a iphone remote app that integrates more with the visual parts such as cover art etc. compared to other remote apps that i have seen.
i have for the last three years been working professionally with mobile applications and I think that XML is not the best way for atleast mobile platforms. Have you ever considered Proto Buffers?
As long as Harmony support is still there, I will be a happy camper
Although, I’m always interested with playing with new remotes too on my phone
