Plex Account no longer works, temporary accounts do

Hi. I’ve been running Plex for several years with no issues.

This past 24 hours, i’ve not been able to sign in without getting an error saying “something went wrong at our end”, and i’m still not signed in, and then it’s been prompting to reclaim the server, again with the same problem.

After a full day of uninstalling, reinstalling previous versions, updating to latest again, network diagnostics, install on other machines, any suggestions I could find on here, I still have the same problem.

I’ve created a temporary Plex account and that logs in fine on all instances, so it appears to be something directly related to my account. I’ve checked and it still shows that I have my lifetime Plex Pass, and i’m able to reset my password.

I’ve searched the forum and can’t see any posts of an identical nature, so i’m hoping someone from Plex can reach out to me.

Or if anyone has had the same problem, what they did to resolve the issue?

Really appreciate some help.

Something crazy to try:
Un-link your Tidal account here: https://plex.tv/users/other-services
Then restart both the server and the web app and try again to claim the server.

I like crazy, because crazy works… you are an absolute legend, i’ve been pulling my hair out for days trying to find the cause of the issue on this, you’ve just made this System Administrator very happy, as that is something I would never have thought to do.

I’d buy you a crate of beer if I could… thank you so much for your help.

You should now be able to re-link your Tidal account as well.

thank you… i’ll sort that out shortly, i’m just breaking out the champagne, as the wife will be happy that she can watch her tv shows again :smiley:
