Can't sign into web app :Internal Server Error. Something went wrong on our end:

I’m now having this since yesterday. Can connect via Plex App (I guess internally it’s OK), can’t connect via Plex.tv can’t connect via connected apps that use API because it’s an invalid URL. Would appreciate a reset if you can manage it. Thanks.

@marshalleq are you getting a specific error?

I get this at Plex.tv when clicking on Open Plex.

I get this in a connected app: “Plex Error: Plex url is invalid”

I haven’t actually changed anything in Plex.

My Plex App on Mac and Apple TV works. I can see some remote connections work.

The logs don’t look to have anything obvious in them, so figured this was the likely culprit. But if you think not, please advise.

Edit: Tautulli also (and I guess all connected things if I were to check)

Edit 2: Just tried changing network to preferred - which didn’t help and even tried disabling the relay - clutching at straws obviously. Have restarted the container a few times also. I note that each time the app (or web client) successfully authenticates before the error is thrown. Doesn’t feel like something I can fix on my end - but could be wrong.

Also, I should add that the error ‘invalid url’ is incorrect. I checked, I can ping the plexified secure url and it get’s a reply from the correct IP. It’s just not connecting.

I don’t think you have a certificate issue so moved to a new topic. Sounds like an issue with authentication token rather than a connection issue.

Do you have anything that logs in on it’s own like something you use to automate tasks. Too many bad logins may cause blocks.

Have you tried clearing cache/site data for app.plex.tv and whatever your Tautulli URL us

OK. Yes those are the things that stopped working. I’ll investigate. Was also reading that disconnecting tidal works around it for some people - will try that too. Thanks for your help.

Edit - well I can’t disconnect tidal because I can’t login.

I don’t see how it can be cache, given things from outside my browser are having the issue too. I.e docker containers.

I just discovered this is an issue and I am having all the tell tale signs of needing my cert reset after reading a month of posts here.

edit: For clarity, I have tried every browser available on my Mac and get a time out saying it’s something on your end but the server is running. It was working early today.

@Zod27 it is reset. you may have to restart server

Thanks BigWheel, I still think this is what caused my issue but it didn’t resolve it. I can’t login from any browser on my Mac but I can from other devices on my network. I have reset and restarted everything, kind of out of ideas, not sure if you have any suggestions?

can you log in from a different browser? have you made sure the browser is allowing 3rd party cookies for site and things like JavaScript are not being blocked.

Are you getting a specific error?

I’ve tried ever browser including downloading Opera. It just works from my iPhone without doing anything. I have an M1 Mac Mini if that helps, worked perfectly earlier today and everything is still functional as I can access it on my iPhone.

Message, " Internal Server Error. Something went wrong on our end"

Looks like you may have same issue here @Zod27 based on @marshalleq 's screenshots. so moved your posts here as well.

Is it possible to get your server logs messaged to me. ( click on my username and click message button)

Done. In the mean time, I confirmed another browser that I’ve never used Plex on has the same issue.

Was curious if you can access via http://LocalIP:32400/web ( where LocalIP is your server computers real IP)

Thanks, I sent the logs as well. I don’t know what happened but I must have messed up something.

No I can’t - but I haven’t been able to do that for ages - don’t know why. Instead I’ve been just going to Plex.tv and using that. A while ago I used to run a custom domain attached to Plex - but some things didn’t like it so I reverted. I think since then I couldn’t access locally which I’ve never made sense of. Assumed it was a certificate issue and that a reset would fix it.

That’s how I always sign in. Has always worked but now I get “Internal Server Error. Something went wrong on our end” after it fails to login. That why I assumed it was the cert.

I’ve just tried on local IP again and it’s working now - did you change something?

Edit: to be clear, it works on local IP now, but not via Plex.tv.

I don’t know what is causing the error, but the error is an HTTP 500 response when trying to retrieve account information from https://plex.tv/users/account. A HTTP 500 is usually an error on the server side (i.e. on plex.tv), and not on the client side (i.e. in the browser).

No I did not change anything. Yeah I don’t think it is a client side issue. Waiting on our account guys to get online to ask them if there is anything amiss.

I was doing some automated lookups, via the plexified ssl url, perhaps it was going to your servers and was throttled - though when pinging that url, the local IP was replying so it shouldn’t be. Anyway. now that the local URL is working (literally wasn’t going 10 minutes ago) I’ll change that anyway.
