Plex adding a 'disc' tag to every track that does not have a rating

Server Version#: 1.32.7.7621
Player Version#: 4.8.4 (plexamp)
Logs.zip (6.5 MB)

Yesterday I noticed that in a few albums, tracks that I’ve rated were showing up first in the album, regardless of the actual track order.

After investigating, it seems that Plex has added a disc tag to every album (regardless of if that album actually had disc numbers in the tags), but did not add that tag to the tracks I have rated.

I haven’t checked every album in my library, but every one that I’ve checked so far has this issue. I would estimate that every album where I’ve rated a track now has an erroneous disc tag. The vast majority of these albums are single-disc albums that never had a disc tag.

I’m running Plex in a docker container. The image is lscr.io/linuxserver/plex:latest.

Refreshing the metadata for an individual album usually fixes it, but I’ve tried turning on “Prefer Local Metadata” and then “Refresh All Metadata” on my entire library, but that did not fix it.

Any ideas on how I should fix this? I have over 800 albums and refreshing metadata individually on all of them would be cumbersome.

I’ve attached some images demonstrating the issue

Edit: I just did “refresh all metadata” on my library again and so far it seems to be working. Hopefully this was just some weird transient issue

Do you have one or several large Collections of tracks/albums/artists in your music library?
I’ve found that you want to avoid them from becoming too massive. Otherwise the database will start corrupting disc numbers for whatever reason.

I had a colletion which basically had my whole music in it. I’ve seen similar effects until I removed this collection.
No issues with large playlists, however.

That must have been what caused it. I do remember making a collection out of my “Liked Tracks” playlist while I was messing around trying to figure out what that feature did. That would explain why it only affected tracks with ratings. I’ve deleted it so now it shouldn’t happen again. Thank you for your help!
