I’m currently running plex web, 2017 nvidia shield (not rooted), Aeon Nox skin, 4 bay jbod.
I’ve got all my movies and tv series sorted out, and all looks great, Seperate folders, all sorted by genre. So I thought I would add my documentary film folder, Now the only way I could get this to scrape with plex is by adding it as a movie library, and of course this dumps it in the movie folder on aeon nox., Not what I wanted, as I’d like it to have its own Title and seperate. Ideally, I’d like to add the folder to the “other videos” Library, and scrape with the movie scraper. Is there a way to achieve this? or could it be made possible in a future update?
I thought I found the answer before posting, with MetaX, but this only writes the cover, and not the rest of the metadata.
I am not sure i understand what you are attempting but based on what i think you are trying. I’ve never used Aeon Nox. so not sure what you mean by it dumps it in movie folder. lIbraries should be separate.
I would make a separate Movie Library. call it Documentaries or whatever… set it to use the Movie Files Scanner but the Personal Media Agent if you don’t want online metadata
in short… just drop the skin and enjoy the freedom to have as many libraries of each media type as you like.
unless of course there’s a trick on how to access multiple movie libraries also with Aeon Nox that you somehow missed.
or if you hate the Plex UI so much and don’t like how Plex organizes the media… go with Kodi instead of making Plex look like Kodi
First and foremost , knowhere did I state that I hated Plex, which in itself allows me to organise my libraries nearly how I want them, which kodi does not. If kodi did, then I would not be here seeking advise.
And it’s not about appearance, plex wont play movie files for me, hence I had to try an alternative.
How about you read the posts instead of skimming them and if you can’t be helpful, just move on.
Still looking for help if I can wade through the internet warriors.
Also MetaX which as far as i know is the original PC version of MetaZ should be able to embed metadata like summaries and such fine. make sure local media assets agent is on top so it Plex uses that local data instead of trying to use online data. ( but that is why I mentioned used personal media agent for those items
Thankyou for taking the time to read my post and answer. I will try your suggestion in your first post. Aeon Nox is a kodi skin that gives me the menus I’m looking for, with regards metax, it scrapes all the info, but plex is not picking it up, and yes local media assets are at the top in all categories.
