Ive been having issues with my database. I have a folder named Movies, Tv Shows and they work great. BUT, i have a folder named Documentaries, and a folder named Comedy. Previously these were marked as other shows, but they have NEVER pulled the proper artwork or summary or date of release. So, I was manually doing this. Someone suggested that I mark these as movies, so I did so, but it is STILL not pulling cover art, date of release, nor summary. As a matter of fact, it shows the title as what I have the filename as. "show (date).
Now, to be honest, my file structure is as follows: Plex/Documentaries/filename.mp4. I have been recently scolded to have my files in their own folder, so I will work on that, I guess. But my movies and TV Shows folders are the same way and I have no issues.
Anyone know why this happening? Ive checked the advanced settings and they seem fine.
ALSO, is there a command that would help me put my files into their own folder and use the filename as the title of this new folder? I have over 2000 movies and about 100 Documentaries.
TV Shows go into a TV Show Library Type
Movies go into a Movie Library Type
Documentaries could go in either - depends if TMDB or TVDB has the listing.
Media Library Folders are REQUIRED - meaning you canât make the root of a drive a Library - the media MUST be in a folder off the root and that folder is added to Add Folders. You donât add individual media movies or shows to Add Folders - you only add the media library folders.

So, like I mentioned before, I have a basic media structure going. (note, when I deleted/re-added my Documentaries/Comedy folders, Plex would NOT let me select the language, and I just checked and it let me change it to English). I did select rescan my folder, but it seems to go for a second and stop, so its NOT actually checking my files, merely looking for newly added/removed data.
Here are a couple of pics of my current file structure. Hope this helps.
