Plex always direct plays music, even over internet.

Plex does not seem to respect the transcode setting when playing music over internet. It never transcodes. Anybody is having issues with it?

I want it to transcode to 320kb/s over internet on my phone since I do not have a unlimited data plan. Plex does not seem to respect the setting.

@stevebenitah - dont suppose you can post the media info of the files in question?

I also believe, but may be incorrect that “internet streaming” refers to any media from the internet (not from your server) if you look at the video quality settings, there is a “internet streaming” and “limit cellular” data option.

This suggests to me that there is no way to have music transcoded down, and if that is the case its a missing feature!?

I see. What a shame that this feature is still missing, Plex is unusable on the go because of that.

I tend to sync my music, or large portions :stuck_out_tongue: 256GB SD card :stuck_out_tongue:
