Pardon my ignorance. I’ve recently become aware of the plans Plex has with regards ACD and am thrilled. However, in considering the long haul of uploading my data I became aware of this limitation:
Videos less than 20 minutes in length and smaller than 2 GB in size can be streamed through the Amazon Drive website and mobile applications. Amazon Drive streaming is not available for videos longer than 20 minutes or larger than 2 GB, but these can be stored in Amazon Drive for you to download and watch offline.
Plex does not “get around” those limits. But rather they do not apply to applications like Plex.
However there is a major problem in that Amazon has “rate limiting” and that adversely impacts the use of “Plex Cloud” on “Amazon Cloud Drive.” In fact it is so bad that the latest set of invites to “Plex Cloud” do not include “Amazon Cloud Drive” at all.
There have even been reports, not substantiated yet, that Amazon will no longer support Plex after December 31.
I have pretty much abandoned “Plex Cloud” for any serious use as the streaming from Amazon on my Rokus is just unstable to the point.
I hope Plex can get the problems ironed out but right now “Plex Cloud” on Amazon is somewhat less than useless so any limits that Amazon may or may not gave is pretty much meaningless.
