I have recently noticed that Plexamp will rake a really long time to download the library data when my iPhone is away from my home network. Does the player not cache the library list? Are there tips for optimizing plex throughput? I do have GB speed at home and my mac server is hard wired. Are there any other settings that would help my library list load faster in plexamp?

Gigabit internet usually refers to your download speed. When it comes to accessing your server remotely, it’ll come down to your upload speed.
Do you have a direct remote connection or is it listed as indirect when you’re streaming anything from outside your home network?

If you closed Plexamp while it was showing the Library tab, it can take a relatively long time before it shows anything when you re-open it.
Try to close Plexamp while it’s on the Home tab. See if it makes a difference when re-opening after a while.

I have GB up/down - my concern is Plex amp and not Plex..
I use Amp for music at the gym or outside my network.
