I really want PlexAmp to be my music player but frequently it’s very slow to load remotely. I notice this often when I’m in the car but it happens other times as well. Often it either takes minutes to load or just never loads after multiple force quits. The same issue occurs with Plex remotely as well, but I don’t experience it as often since I don’t stream video content away from home that often.
My Plex server is running on an M1 Mac Mini connected via Ethernet and I use PlexAmp on iPhone 13 Pro. Both my phone and PlexAmp are updated to the latest versions. The issue was worse when my Plex server was an Ethernet-connected Nvidia Shield.
I don’t know if it’s the internet connection, the server or something else.
I had a look through the logs and I don’t see anything super slow. Can you be a bit more specific about “slow to load remotely”? What exactly are you trying to load?
If I look at raw media download speed, it looks pretty fast (around 8 - 30 Mbps).
When I open the app it can sometimes take several minutes to (or may never) populate the library tab. The home tab may show relevant data (recent plays, etc) but when I tap on it it never loads. In CarPlay I only see the three icons at the top and the rest is blank. If I then unlock my phone and open Plexamp sometimes Plexamp will then load all assets and let me navigate it.
Once it starts working either on device or via CarPlay it usually works flawlessly but it’s just intermittently very slow or doesn’t work at all.
