PLEX and Google Workspace file limits

I run PLEX on an Ubuntu VPS, and also on a Windows System. Both of these servers access media in Google Workspace via Rclone mounted drives. Within the past month I have twice been locked out of Google Workspace for downloading more than 10TB’s worth of files in a single day. It auto-unlocks the following day, but 10TB’s? My entire library is 12TB’s…so something’s going on.

My Linux server updates once a day, while on the Windows server the option to ‘Scan my library periodically’ was not checked, but the ‘Library Scan Interval’ was set for hourly (since changed settings to match the Linux server).

The question I have is really about what PLEX does when it does a library update is it looking at the file, creating a file lock or something similar that Google considers to be a “download”, or is there something else within PLEX that could potentially be causing the problem. Note: only the media is remote, PLEX DB is local.

Do you have a Rclone cache?

Yes, Rclone has a cache at 10GB I think. I’ve seen this file lock behavior twice now within the past two months, and these are the only times I’ve seen it since switching media to Gsuite/Workspace 18months ago…so working on Rclone and with PLEX to see if it’s one or the other.
