Plex and Popcorn Hour Network Media Tank A-110

Hello,

I’m not much of a developer per say, but I have an A-110 Popcorn Hour and have been using various methods to stream media from my Mac to the box. So far, Plex .7.10 has been able to serve up videos and audio using the UPnP server. The library catalogs are listed, but they will not play on the PH. If you manually add shares for video and audio those work (again, not the iTunes plugin). Secondly, photos show up in the PH but will not display.

I’m handy with the command line and some debugging with gdb if anyone wants me to test certain features or compatability issues with a PH and Plex.

This application is amazing, thank you for all your hard work.

PS- For those of you who don’t know what a PH is, it’s basically just a little computer to play high definition content on your HDTV. It’s got optical audio out, does DTS downmixing or passthrough, and has component or HDMI output up to 1080p. It plays all the endless formats and .mkv files currently being used. I mostly play 5.1 channel AC3 audio, although if you have an AV receiver that supports DTS, it can do passthrough. It’s an amazing little box, but the options for streaming content are limited. Mainly llink and myIHome.

I have been trying several different media streamers: AppleTV with Boxee, Popcorn hour a100, and now a mini with plex. The mac mini is by far my favorite, which is why it is hooked up to my big screen tv. I just sold the appletv, for obvious reasons (i.e. it’s lame). Now, I want to keep the popcorn hour to use in my bedroom. Are you able to stream using myiHome, or do you use plex?

I use llink. It's pretty good, but lacks a 'jukebox' interface with movie information and posters. it will list a directory structure, play from .iso and .rar files, and streams just about everything.

Thanks for the info. I’ll give it a try when I get back from my trip.
