My popcorn hour a210s haven't been able to stream media from my server since server version 0.9.11.1.
Any update after that causes the video to buffer endlessly and never play. This happens on both Windows 7 and Linux severs. I did a clean install and reverted back to 0.9.11.1 and everything works fine. I am a lifetime plex pass member and I am worried my devices will no longer be supported if I am forced to update my server. I have used many other clients and prefer the PCH's picture quality and DTS support over the rest. I'm a novice and any help would be appreciated.
The weird thing is that it transcodes for other devices like tablets, phones, PS3, and the xbox 360 just fine. The app hasn't been updated in the last year and I'm afraid that plex has out grown it. Does anyone with the a400 use plex? Have you had issues with the last server update?

I've got the A410 and have not noticed any extra lag. However would appreciate knowing which version popcorn is using? I assume it's a version of PHT.
The newest app i have been able to get is by syabas and its version 1.0.9. I also tried a few different audio files. dts and ac3 both stutter but aac plays perfectly.
Just install a Plex version before 0.9.11.7 it's the only way. I am now looking in to possibly replace all my popbox's if something doesn't happen soon.

I came here to find out about this issue. I have an A-400 and it has recently started choking on 30 minute comedies. things like Veep will play the first second, then drop out.
I also sometimes just get a spinning wheel too. Often this seems to be a problem with the drives spinning up on the server.

Just to be clear though, the Popcorn Hour app was never developed by Plex. It's a Popcorn Hour developed thing, and I think they've pretty much given up on it.
too bad…
with the config.xml, the popcorn/plex solution is the only one to manage all type of media, including .iso and real 3D MVC.
I’m desperatly looking for another solution able to do that with a decent and up to date plex client…
Obviously, there’s none…

I have been a former A210 happy user, great unit, great hardware if you take care of your collection, properly tagged with nfo files, using YAMJ but forget Plex. It is an old media player solution.
After my A210’s death and after being there supporting the birth of a Plex Client without any success, I decided to throw the mortal spoils of A210 away, together with all PopcornHour failed commercial and support strategy.
I bought an Intel NUC, put Plex Home Theater on it (I use openELEC + PHT distro), works pretty fine and I will never look back to old box with proprietary firmware and companies with lack of effective support.
