Is there any plan to include Premium (encrypted) Channel support in the DVR of Plex?
I understand that there is a significant fee to include the “Play Ready” features in the server which would allow this to happen. However, I am already a Plex Pass subscriber and would gladly pay another one-time fee in order to make this happen. I am not a fan of the HDHomerun app (you can not stream remotely) and would love to be able to use this on my system as part of Plex - which I have to say is evolving into one of the best pieces of software I have ever used.
If you are not considering this (and I can’t believe there has not been a HUGE request for this) please do. This would be the single most significant jump in Plex taking over the world possible
are you talking about the new hd homerun premium service or encrypted cable tuner?
the premium service already works with plex however what does not work is the GUIDE inconjunction with OTA guide.
Currently you can use the premium guide only, or the ota guide only.
Or you can use a 3rd party guide via xml.
There are already threads here which explain how to get the 3rd party guide working with both OTA and premium channels. Please search and read those if you are interested.

These 3rd party software solutions run on many different platforms, and support live TV from our hardware. DRM content viewing is not available on these platforms.
