Add me to the list. Can confirm this is an issue. Another s21+ Android 12 user that had the latest update. I have this problem as well and it is temporarily fixed with the screen zoom option as I also don’t seem to have a screen resolution option.
There are no logs on the server side. As far as the server is conscerned, no request was made.
Here is player logs for a request. If I access using the same device but in a web browser. it works.

I stand corrected on my last comment, stopped working again even on the latest update.
I had this same issue for the past couple of days
Samsung S21 Ultra.
Upgraded to the latest server version (Linux), no change
Tried the webview thing, no change
Reboots, no change
The thing that worked for me was setting the screen resolution down to HD+ as was suggested earlier in the thread.
After testing it was working, I reset the resolution back up and it still works.
Today I get the newest android update for Germany. But the problem still exists.
Is the emby team still active here ?
I think it’s really very disappointing what happens here, there are more like bug reports from users with the problem. 20 days have now passed since the problem was first reported. almost everyone here is paying for plex, and I think it’s really sad that nothing more happens here. It is tried to be dead silent about the problem. do you really want to lose customers? do you want to build up such a reputation? I am now announcing the plex pass that is cheeky
I got the newest Android update (13) and it solved the problem.

Having same issue in my S21
Having this exact issue. I’m with others wondering why the plex developers are completely silent on this? Samsung is the number one android manufacturer by volume with a market share of 35%. Lots of people with plex on android likely have this issue. A statement would be nice even if it’s one that places the blame on samsung.

Wanted to provide another update. No real change since my last post. Everything since the latest samsung update has been working. Plex has updated a few times under the beta. Every once in a while something won’t play back, I just click the x and click play again.
Spun up a new plex sever on my new synology and could not play any videos on my Samsung 21 Ultra, been fault finding for the last 3 hours until i came across this forum post. I am not sure we can put all the blame on plex support as since I upgraded at the start of the month to Android 12 UI 4 multiple apps have stopped working:
BBC
DuckDcukGo
McAfee
To name a few, the finger should be pointing at Samsung for releasing an unstable port of Android 12.
I did test the screen res change and that did work for me but paying a premium for a nice phone to then drop the screen res seems counter productive. I am hoping there is a fix soon.

Got the S21 update, but it still doesn’t work, even with the screen zoom trick. I’m really fed up with that…
I thought it could be profile related, but I tried with my girlfriend’s profile on my phone, same error. When I start a video from her phone, either her profile or mine, it works fine.
S21 Ultra here. Just migrated servers and spent the last 3 days trying to figure out what went wrong. Haddent used plex on my phone since the android 12 update and sure enough it’s broken. The resolution switching trick works for me for a little bit. Really hoping a perm fix comes soon
I have a feeling it’s more than just the issue with Android 12 / Samsung mobiles. I had the same experience trying to watch a movie using Plex client on a Firestick.
My server is a Synology NAS with DSM 7,
All has been working like clockwork for over 18 months and then BOOM!
I have the same issue, updated galaxy s21+ to android 12 and plex stopped working. Loading for ever on a video. It works fine in a web browser, android tv and my wifes samsung phone on android 11. Interesting thing is that if i quickly click play and then close the video sveral times in a row, eventually it starts working for that video. But that is a pathetic workaround a real fix is needed from plex team.
Yep broke on my S21 too. My other devices work perfectly. Update fixed it temporarily but behavior messed up again after closing and reopening videos. Funnily enough my Samsung S7+ tab workd fine so must be something specific to the S21 line.
Hey I’m back. Still broken. Nothing’s improved. S21+ I paid $1000 for is still useless to play Plex. Plex employees still refusing to admit this is a legit problem? Or?
Just downright infuriating at this point!!?? 
is this even affecting other android 12 users? why are we blaming Plex when this could be Samsung’s fault.
as a temp solution you can use an external player like vlc.
