My friend and I both have separate Plex servers. A few days ago we both lost the ability to connect to our own Plex servers via the Android app but we can reach each others via the same app, no problem. We can reach both our own and each others from the web app. After a bit of troubleshooting I found out to correct this problem I had to go into Settings > Advanced > Allow insecure connections on the Android app. Change it from Never. My home server instantly showed up. I double checked the web app and my connection still shows secure. I’m not sure why this is but I’m posting for anyone else having the same issue.
We both followed your instructions and everyone is able to set our Android app back to ‘Never’ and still connect. I ended up having to delete both instances of the NAS from my Authorized Devices and reclaim my server but now I don’t have the duplicate servers (one working and one not) that I did after completing the steps.

I spend 3 hours searching why my android box was showing my server as offline.
Windows app was fine, webinterface was. Fine, only the android app players were saying the server was offline.
Changed to allow always and hey presto! Thank you so much! What a waste of time
