Plex android client still cant control volume on Android 12 (3+ year issue)

Server: Synology NAS
Player Version#: 10.24.1.2319
Mobile Device: Surface Duo running Android 12L
Plex Pass: Yes, lifetime subscription

Issue: Volume control in plex app does nothing. Zero. Hardware buttons do nothing in plex app. This has been an issue now since android 12 released and still is an issue. VLC, DirecTV, Hulu, Netflix and all my other media apps have zero issues controlling volume control within their apps.

Can this be resolved please? My device cant get newer android.

I asked a friend who has Samsung Galaxy Tab A7 running Android 12 and the hardware buttons work fine he tells me.

What audio codecs do your files use?

hello. thx for the reply. audio codecs are usually aac or ac3 or eac (which gets transcoded).

i wonder if its related to android 12L since my duo runs that. i did find a workaround, use vlc as an external media player within the plex app settings. for now ill have use my workaround which dont mind since my duo is a secondary/ bed watching device.
