Volume control doesn't work using plex app

Server Version#: 1.32.3.7162
Player Version#: 9.23.0.174
Android 13

No matter the content, if I play something the volume slider does nothing. Is always full volume.

Tried using Kodi and played anything through it and the volume works

I’ve found that if I play anything on Spotify and while the music is on and I start playing something in plex, the volume slider works. But it stop working if I pause the content for a long period or if I stop the content and then start another one.

I don’t know when this started because I usually do not use the phone to watch stuff, and now that I needed to I found this.

I’m about to start backward testing every app release. I will update this if I find something.

Full volume would be quite annoying.

What device are you using?

FWIW, I’ve a Pixel 6a, Android 13, and the volume control on the phone works when playing movies, tv shows, or music.

Plex Android mobile 9.24.0.2105 (beta).

Glad to see I’m not the only one with this issue. I also found that some times newly opened episodes won’t have the bug, but returning to an episode where the bug has triggered after that will return to full volume.
I haven’t been using the app for that long, but I could swear the bug didn’t originally happen, so it must be a recent app update.
Also found the Spotify trick, but obviously I can’t do that every time.

Using linux server on Docker, Android 12, updated to 13, didn’t fix anything. Removed cache and all data in the device, logged in, out, enabled audio boost, nothing fixes this. Hope a solution is found.
