Plex Android stopping playback after 1 min, but all other apps working

Android App Version#: 8.0.1.17410

Plex Android App playback of any movie or TV stops playback after exactly 1 minute. This only happens on the Android app (on 3 different devices). I have tried it on the apps for LG TV, Xbox One X and also via web browser (internally and external of my network).

Looking at the logs it says that ‘Failed to stream media, client probably disconnected after…’ which doesn’t occur on any other of the applications. I have attached the log files.

I really hope someone can help me with this.

Plex mobile apps are locked to 1 minute of playback unless

  • You pay a one-time $4.99 USD in-app fee (*)
  • You have a Plex Pass
  • You are a member of a Plex Home of a user with a Plex Pass

(*) Per app store account. Ex 1: You have two iPhones using same app store account, you pay one activation fee. Ex 2: You have an iPhone and and Android phone, you pay two activation fees.

Thank you for your help, I completely overlooked this point when choosing between Plex Pass and free.
