plex app can't find the server

Had plex server running on synology 1815+
Lost the connection to the server some time in August already.
I ran the app from Synology, it just could not find a server.
Ended up re-installing plex media server on NAS.
Later on found out the local IP address of the NAS had been changed, which might have been the reason.
So changed the local IP back to the original.
Now with the latest version of plex installed and running, still the same issue - can not find server.
I’m logged in in the app and the server does not show up. Not locally, not through plex website.
What am I missing?
First installations have always been so easy, but when changing the hardware and having a couple of plex accounts it becomes complicated.
Another example:
I have 2 synology NAS drives, both running its own plex server on one plex pass account.
When running plex app on one of the NAS drives, it was showing both servers(one local and one indirect)
Then I signed out of local server.
Now I see only indirect server and local not showing up anywhere, can’t find where I could log back into it or where I could tell the app - Hi mate, here is one more server running.

Any help would be appreciated.
edit:
DS1815+
DSM 6.0.2-8451 Update 1
plex 0.9.16.3.1840-cece46d

Also updated to the latest version of Plex for Synology and getting the same message. Removed Plex and resintalled and it was working fine, so upgraded to the latest version and got the “can’t find server” message again.

Alright. I guess I provided too much information about 2 similar issues.
forget the above, let me try explain it easier.
I have just updated the PMS to the latest version on my synology NAS.
Plex package is running on my Synology NAS.
when I run the app in browser( my_NAS_IP:32400), a Plex sign in screen pops up and I sign in.
Then I am signed in at top right corner, but no servers are found.
No servers found means there is no server to sign into as well.
This is exactly how far I get with it.
Removed the preferences file, start/stop the plex package, restart NAS - nothing.
Basically it can’t find the server that was perfectly fine before I signed out of it.
I have this issue with 2 different synology NAS drives, in different locations, running different Plex pass accounts.(MYApogee and ellissoni).

sorry, I’m out of ideas. even after reading Your post I don’t know how many times. Both NAS drives are the same.
No server found…

I did remove the preferences file, no luck. a couple of times.
Not only that - I stop and uninstall the plex package, delete ALL files in plex shared folder, delete the plex shared folder itself…
Then reinstall and run the package and… wtf? I’m already logged in, indirect server half the world away is showing up but still no local server.

I kind of expect when I reinstall the package, there is like an unclaimed server showing up or something.
Instead, it looks like I can’t even reset it.

This NAS is in my local network. I’m accessing plex through firefox browser, using plex link on synology home page or just typing in synologyIP:32400 in my browser.

I have the same issue.

I updated PMS to the latest version(1.1.4.2757) on Synology DS415+.

In the plex web app, if I do not sign-in to my account, the web app can see my server on NAS.
Once I sign in, the server is lost.

Can this be an issue with my account? Can this be an issue with “offended” servers that are linked to my account?

Thanks,Alex.

I have a pair of Synology 1815+, both running dsm 6.1 and have the same issue…

I have followed you instruction above, no help…
delete and re install both DSM 6.0 and 6.1 (fresh clean install) and Plex app, no help

I get the sign in screen, but then it can’t find the server…

If I run Plex server on a Mac, the web interface on the synology can see the Mac Plex, but can’t see its own server… nor can the Plex on the Mac see the synology server. nor can my Apple TV4 or RoKu

I’m at a lost on what to do next… Help…

No files in Application Support folder…

also, I started fresh, erased all disk on Synology, re loaded DSM and new file system, loaded PLEX

same issue…

I am running with BTRFS, but had EX4 prior and still had the same issue… going back is hard, 2-3 day of file copies…

Is there an issue with BTRFS and PLEX?? is there a fix planed??

where can I send my startup log??

thanks

here are my log files

Thanks

I have:

  1. removed PLEX , saved all movies files
  2. reformatted all disk (upgraded to BTRFS) <— Yes I know
  3. new clean install of dsm 6.1
  4. moved all files back to server,
  5. re installed PLEX

I have a 2nd Synology with the same issue, can’t see the PLEX server
I currently have it running on a Mac pointing to files on the Synology

Same error for me. I’m not about to re-start everything from scratch.

Go it !

I had exactly the same issue :

I have one server running plex well, and would like to create new one on another computer (just for music).
But when i connect onto http://Your-NAS-IP-Address:32400. It never found any local server, only my perious server.
I had reinstall DSM and plex, same issue (DSM6, and PLex 1.15 on Synology DS3612.)
tried with Firefox and Chrom : Same issue.

I found that event after reinstallation, i was automatically log into the plex app with my account. (?!)

So i try to connect using another computer (that i never use before to connect on web plex).

And that works !

So i suggest troubles with cookies or cache of web browser.
If you want to configure new Plex server, be sure to flush web browser cache and cookies ( if you used it before for antother plex server).

I hope that could help someone further.

Best regards

Excuse my English.
