Plex app doesn't let me rewind/ fast-forward, end up back to same time of video

Player Version#: Roku with latest version/Mac with new macOS

I use Roku to watch Plex from my iMac and external HDD. I have no problem playing except MP4s and SRTs, the subtitles delays for a couple of seconds (relay captioning is turned off). With VLC app on computer does right timing. I think MKV with subtitle-embedded is right on the track with subtitle. But for rewind/fast-forward/instant rewind button, for MKV with subtitle-embedded, I’m stuck with keeping ending up to resume time when I try to fast-forward. And I tried to fast forward to near ending of movie, I ended up going back to other time like middle of movie. I already updated on Roku and Plex server and everything. I turned the subtitle off, it wasn’t different at all.

Just solution to fix it. I disabled both the direct play and direct stream on Roku for MKV file. I’m not familiar with that features. What would happen if direct play and direct stream was disabled? Enabling them affect subtitle (srt.) offset for MP4?

See if I got this right. You have a Roku attached to your TV and the UI functions of <<,>>, pause are not working with mkv files.

Disabling Direct play and Direct stream may result in your server trans coding everything.
