I have the latest version of the Plex client for Fire TV/Fire OS installed (v8.28.0.30077) directly from the Amazon Appstore. I am having issues with my Fire TV (OS v7.2.6.7/3537), only after watching shows using the Plex client. The TV will get stuck in a loop, whereby it will continuously launch/snap back into the Plex client after using the remote control to select the ‘Home’ screen to exit the client. The only way out of this loop is to use the remote menu button to access apps and then use an installed shortcut to device & software options and then restart. Without the shortcut through apps, it would be impossible to get to the restart because as soon as you begin to navigate through the settings page, the TV will just snap right back into Plex. Additional strange behaviours include greyed out and/or broken shortcut tiles on the ‘Home’ screen after having used the Plex app for an indeterminate length of time. A manual Plex app cache clear sometimes resolves the greyed out tile issue on the home screen. I have tested all other installed apps on my Fire TV (e.g., Emby) and have not been able to duplicate these behaviours/issues save for the Plex app. I searched the Plex forum for any reports of the same experience, but nothing quite matched. I should also mention that I have completed a factory default reset on the Fire TV and then reinstalled Plex, but received the same results. This same issue has been duplicated on two separate Amazon Fire TV’s, made by different manufacturers, using the same Plex client version but two different and most current versions of the Fire OS. Amazon Fire TV forum/support did not offer any solution. Sadly, I may have to retire Plex and choose Emby as my primary media server/client for Fire OS if I can’t find a resolution.
