Plex App for Windows downloads already watched episodes when "next 3 unplayed episodes" is marked

I am trying to download only the next 3 unplayed episodes of a series which should be episodes 12 and beyond, but the plex app decides to download the series starting from the first episode.
My assumption is, that the algrorithm does not take into account apisodes that were manually marked as watched.

Using "Next Episode" on the series overview starts from the first episode

Ive seen similar, but if you let it sync 3-4 times it straightens itself out and ends up with just the unwatched episodes. (like it has to download everything, then removes the watched videos)
