Indeed . For all others with the same problem : i entered the ip address of the pc which hosts the server in the app on my tv, and i entered the TV’s IP address in the list of ip’s that are allowed to connect in the settings on the server side. And it works fine now.
perfect, offline mode works then, strange that the samsung still needs access to internet to add offline servers… or something still blocked for adding offline servers
make sure offcourse you setup the samsung tv’s with a static IP , or make a dhcp mac reservation in your router
I tried adding my TV’s IP address to the “List of IP addresses and networks that are allowed without auth” box under Network settings on PMS, but it’s still giving me the blank TV code page on the TV.
Where am I supposed to enter the IP address of my PC in the TV?
Thanks for the reply! I get that the code page is a dead end. But how do I add the PMS to the TV app by IP if it immediately throws me into the code page when I run it?
Good morning, dane22! I followed Fabio’s advice, entered the IP address of my Samsung un65ju639d manually and the PMS was added. This seems temporary and wanted to know if the Proxy fix works with Synology DMS 7?
Plex seems to have made an update that has resulted in it not working on ANY Samsung TV. I’ve searched the forums for days now, tried everything I can Google and the reality is that I’ll have to stop using Plex, because it only works on my laptop.
OK, I get it now, the code page is NOT a dead end. If I hit the menu button on my remote to bring up the virtual controller, I can then click the red button to go to where I can add the server manually by IP! Now I just need to get into my router and lock down the IP addresses now that I have it working.
yes indeed, offline should still work, if you add the IP address from the samsung in plex network settings
if you still need to go online to access a remote PMS, then the only solution is to use the proxy, can be installed on same hardware where you plex is located
The extra thing with the offline solution is that you also need to make sure your Plex Server host device and your Samsung TV both have fixed IP addresses, otherwise it will not work anymore one you restart one of them, since they will get a dynamic ip adresse. Erik
