Samsung tv link code is mising

The plex app on the tv kept showing offline so i reset the app, now when going into the app it comes up with the link screen on the tv but all the boxes are blank, there is no code! anyone else had this?
Tried deleting app, switching off, after loading app again same thing.

Same thing here.
Unable to login and server says that ā€œconnection refused due security settingsā€ and that i need to login to my account to connect this server. I would login but it does not let me.

Installed app again on smart. Now it should show me a code to link that device to Plex, but there is no code. Place where numbers should be are empty.

Network works fine and i am able to surf pages with smart without any problem.
Booted my server. Did not help. My other devices work just fine.

To get this work on local network without login. You need to put your TVs IP to ā€œList of IP addresses and networks that are allowed without authā€. You can find this from server settings -> Network.

The TV is not on a local network.
I deleted the tv in the authorised device list, I am wondering if this has caused the issue

Iā€™m having the same problem. Samsung tv showing offline, tried restarting checking network and serverā€¦ all working properly.
Tv can browse internet pages but wouldnā€™t connect to Plex.
Uninstalled plex ā€¦ reinstalled then get the link code page come up with no code.
So now canā€™t link the Samsung smart hub tv to Plex Server :frowning:

Exactly the same problem at our Samsung UE46Es5500. Everything up-to-date (PMS, TV firmware, Plex app) and entering the IP address in the List of IP addresses and networks that are allowed without auth field has no effect. Used to work fine a couple of days ago.

Same issue here on UE55ES8000. Started out that i couldnā€™t change users on the player. Showed an error when i tried. Then i noticed the account online but with no subscription (i have a lifetime pass).
Logged out the account, and now i canā€™t sign in anymore. Gives me blanks instead of required code.
Was able to reconnect to my server offline, but user accounts still canā€™t be selected. Error message says server needs to be connected to plex.tv, which it is.
Please advise.

Got it working again. You have to do two things:

  1. Enter the IP address of your TV in the List of IP addresses and networks that are allowed without auth field in the Media Server settings (Settings > Network)
  2. Enter the IP address of your PMS in your TV app (configure manually)

Canā€™t use account priviliges that way. (Managed users)

Time to get a new streaming device. You donā€™t have any other choice if you want to use managed users.

Yeap that is working for me! Just make sure that you have set the TV to a fixed IP when youā€™re configuring it.

Had the exact same problem after not uskng Plex for some weeks.
This worked for me.

Have to admit, my Samsung TV was outdated around the same time I unpacked it. Never anything but trouble. :roll_eyes:

It works the first time. If the server (pc) takes different IP each time , it doensā€™t work, this is my case.
Now my Plex app is blocked. :pensive:

Yes, I get the exact same issue.
Tried the workarounds and yes it works but it is far from ideal.

I donā€™t like it when services do this. If my 2012 Samsung TV still has the PLEX App available in the samsung app store then in my opinion PLEX should still support it.

Netflix still support it, it is just I canā€™t use multiple logins.
Amazon Prime is supported.

PLEX used to work flawlessly so why break it.

same issue here. my samsung tv worked like a charm for 9 years.
trying to add new PMS device, something were wrong. so i uninstalled the app on tv and reinstalled.
but i canā€™t join tv to my account.
removed pin from my users. removed 1 shared user. nothing changed.
tv show empty pin. iā€™m on payd plesā€™s profile. Any help please, before buy a new tv.
