I am trying to access Plex PMS with Tailscale. While testing this, the Plex App on my Samsung Android Phone suddenly changed to English and I can no longer find my PMS (with 2 libraries). I have already deleted the app and reinstalled it via Google Play, but the situation remains unchanged. When authenticating, I also get an English login screen (instead of Dutch). Does anyone have an idea how I can solve this problem?
By the way, (fortunately) PlexAmp on the same mobile phone remains in Dutch, my PMS can be accessed and music can be played. Plex Dash is also still completely in Dutch and I can access (the details) of my PMS.
I think this is likely due to the new app not being fully internationalized yet. If you’re running the new app (the version will be 2025.10.0 or higher) then the only translations available right now are:
English
English (UK)
Deutsch
Español
Français
Italiano
PortuguĂŞs
PortuguĂŞs (Brasil)
The new app has had some teething pains, this being one of them. Hopefully more languages will be added back soon.
If you’re still on the legacy version of the app (version 10.27.x or earlier), then there’s something else going on.
Unfortunately, I no longer have the previous version on my phone. Indeed, I also read about quite a few problems with some dissatisfaction with the new version of the Plex App. Whether that also leads to no longer being able to access a PMS, as was the case before, I have not yet been able to find out.
I myself thought of a problem with my Plex account. However, I have no idea how to figure out what Plex has linked to this.
Perhaps it is indeed best to wait for a next release of the Plex App and then try again.
Meanwhile, my impression is that Plex is positioning its apps differently where the Plex App (for Android) is intended for videos, movies and live TV DVR. You will therefore no longer come across the library/libraries with music. I haven’t yet found the time to create a library for videos on my PMS to test this.
Music from my PMS can be played (better) with PlexAmp. It is a pity that you no longer see the number of songs from your playlists as before in the Plex App. Consider this comment as a call to the people of Plex to build this into a future release of PlexAmp ;-).
In addition to the above apps, Plex Photos is available. I haven’t tried this yet in combination with creating libraries on my PMS (but will definitely try that).
