Plex App not loading on Samsung TVs

I have two Samsung TVs with two different Tizen software versions installed, they are are 2021 and 2025 models. From today neither of them will load the Plex app, when selected it just gives me a black screen, the Plex logo isn’t even displayed when the app loads and no error is displayed.

One is connected by Wi-Fi and the other via ethernet, all other streaming apps I have tested on them are working without an issue.

My gut is thinking they are not connecting to Plex internet services specific to load the Samsung app, I have a separate Roku device on the same network that is still working.

I have been through the recommended fault finding steps, including removing and reinstalling the apps on the Samsung TVs, and powering off the device from the power for a period of over 60 seconds.

I’ve done some more research on this, and potentially this could be an IP address or location issue. I connected my entire home network to a VPN in London UK, and Plex on both of my Samsung TVs starts working again, If I disconnect the VPN Plex is broken again.

I’m located in the Isle of Man and it is listed as a separate region on most IP address location databases.

I’ve now also done testing with Roku and Fire TV stick devices and neither of them are affected when not on the VPN.

I don’t want to keep the VPN on permanently as it does have a negative impact on my internet speeds. and as I stated earlier, this problem only started on Friday 20th of February, and it’s never been an issue before, so something has changed.
