Plex app on a "no smart tv"

Hi all,

 

I dont know if this is the right place to ask this, if not then im sorry. 

 

My question is:

I want to be able to watch my movies trough the plex app on a tv that is not a smart tv.

I am running plex on my NAS and i can watch my movies on my smart tvs with the plex app.

Now i am looking for a device that hase network capabilitys and gives me the option to install the plex app.

I am not looking for something like Google-chrome cast  the makes me have to stream media trough a device like a tablet or a phone.

I want to be able to put on my tv, go the the plex app and select a movie.

Roku and Amazon Fire Tv. would work, you could also setup a computer and run Plex Home Theatre (or a raspberry Pi running Rasplex).

Since you have PlexPass you could use an Xbox (One or 360) or PlayStation (3 or 4) as well. Quite a few options.

I whas looking into a Fire tv bud im from Holland and its not in stores here.

I will look into the roku or rasberry pi then.

Roku 3,very easy to set up and use, works well, access to many streaming services.  The Plex channel will cost $4.99.
