After my Plex App all recently updated to the new app (2025.16) on my Pixel 9, a main feature I heavily relied on stopped working:
When watching media (movies/TV shows) I could previously lock my phone and the show would continue to play. A main use case for me to listen to panel shows without watching it, when e.g. doing other menial work. With the new app sometimes seconds after locking the phone, other times 1-2minutes after locking it, the playback will stop and when unlocking the phone I will get the non meaningful error message “Error occured - source error”.
However, I can restart playing immediately by reloading and pressing play again.
There is no connectivity issue as I can play files without problem when on my unlocked phone.
Can you please advise or record this bug!
