I am not sure why this happens, but my raspberry pi has Kodi running with the add on PLEX.
Besides it is not very stable (this version) (it crashes sometimes for no reason-gets stuck on a screen and in the background you hear the show you just watched) it has also a lack of updating to standard PLEX.
Now owning a lifetime Plex-pass, I run PMS at home and at my girlfriends house I start the raspberry pi to watch stuff from home.
Now lately I had some seasons of yellowstone planted on my server, nice files plus the SUB and IDX files also nicely named in the correct order, yet my RPI does not handle it.
Now when I go remote to my server, start up chrome, go to my server address, start the same show, the subtitles show nicely. When at my girlfriends house on any pc with an internet connection of course and Chrome, it shows that show with the subtitles…
Now there might be people who want me to go look into settings and so on, but this is lost time, it will not show the titles, if I search any srt file and put it there, it shows perfectly.
I think that version of plex on that particular platform is bogus.
Now I had a direct installation with PLEX on my RPI 3+ with 4 GB ram, network attached and equipped with cooling fans and active fan on top (a large one, because those smaller work not), but that did eventually did not work either, wanted to throw it all away, so I searched for another solution and for a while I thought this might work, and it does kinda work, but with all those apps, if it is on my phone, RPI or tablet, there is always something missing and I think they all are little pieces of ■■■■ (phone and tablet apps) that are there to make the dev richer and you more angry because of the mishap and ads we have to swallow.
Enough ranting, fact is, is this app updated or is there a crux I have not found yet?
Thanks community…
