I have been running Plex on a dedicated Linux box with a HD Homerun and the Plex Roku app for years with no problems. Recently I started to have the following problem, but I didn’t change anything. As part of my troubleshooting I swapped out the Roku box withg a spare I had. The same problem happened.
I record the local news at 5:00-5:30PM daily. If I sit down to eat at say 5:10 PM I start the app, select the live program and pick the option to start playing from the beginning. About 15 minutes later it stops and the app hangs. This is the point where I normally would fast forward through a commercial, but I can’t be sure if it would have stopped on its own if I didn’t do that so I am not sure if that triggers it. This is usually the second time I fast forward through a commercial and the first time doesn’t cause any problems. I have to restart the app but I can’t restart playing the news where I stopped. The recording is not yet complete so I can’t start to use it even though by then it is beyond where the player stopped. If I wait until about 5:32PM I can play the recording, skip to where it stopped and watch the rest, but this is very annoying. Is there any setting for the size of the watch from the beginning buffer that I need to adjust?
