Since I installed the server version I’m currently using (sent to me from @chris_decker08 to fix a DVR playback issue (DVR playback issues on Roku - #22 by _JOHN - this issue is still working great btw)), I have had issues watching live tv through Plex. I can start watching a channel, it loads and starts playing fine, but shortly after starting (sometimes 10-15 seconds, sometimes 2-3 minutes, it varies), the channel/playback will skip for a second and then starts over. It starts playing again from where I initially started watching it. Any thoughts on this?
this could be related to the ongoingly ignored issues reported before with DVR and LiveTV - perhaps with more people complaining that basic DVR/LiveTV functionality is broken we’ll get it fixed, but I’m not optimistic - Plex has ignored this horrible glaring issue for a long time now. See these:
Having same issue on my Roku TV Plex with latest server on HDHomeRun. It starts channel then cycles back after a few seconds and replays the same segment again
PVR gets more broken with every update. I now have to transcode any recording or the lip-sync is off. I have extremely strong signal and now recordings are dropping out and having problems. I found the “experimental” live transcoding feature turned on after again after I had already turned it off. However, on or off doesn’t help… I don’t even know what version to roll back to find a working version because there has been so many broken and buggy releases. I fee like I’d need to go back to spring of 2024 to find a working version.
This could be related to auto skipping commercials. I’ve noticed that if you try and watch at the same time as recording and your client is set to auto skip it replays the last 5 seconds over and over. Turning off autoskip fixes it.
Bigger issue for me is that any version of the server since August records audio out of sync on playback w. direct play. You hVe to purposefully switch to transcoding to watch any recorded content w. proper lipsync.
How do we actually get these bugs reported and fixed!? It’s clear that Plex no longer looks at the support forums.

This is during live tv and I’m not recording. It’s incredibly frustrating to turn on live tv and know that everytime you change the channel it’s going to “rewind” 20/30 secs and it sometimes rewinds multiple times. There is no rhythm or reason to this breakage.
This is still an ongoing problem for years - can we get some traction on a resolution please Plex ? Or at least a “it’s been logged and we’re looking into it” ?? Post after post gets closed with zero info. Please contact me, I’m technical, and happy to help test and fix.
I got different behavior now! So we had a power outage, which lead me to disable the “automatically sign in” checkbox on my roku device so I could watch in offline mode since power takes out internet also, during that process i also disabled the experimental 1080p MPEG2 option under video and audio on the roku.
With those 2 disabled I was able to timeshift a local news program (“start from beginning” like 15 minutes late on the 30 min program) and move in the timeline properly with ff and rew!
I have since re-enabled the automatically sign in checkbox since the power outage is over and the timeline movement still works with the in-progress recording. If the in progress recording ends while you’re still watching and seeking, things get wacky again however, but while that’s annoying, it’s much more tolerable.
I have NOT tried this with a longer program yet like timeshift a football game, but I will definitely be trying!
I also have not tried this on my android or ios clients yet.
Roku was running preview 9.0.30.x version (latest preview)
Another thing I noticed is that these live/timeshifted streams are “hls” streams… in the latest PMS release I noticed that it says (Transcoder) HLS streams could fail when seeking (PM-4075)
