Plex App will not open on my Synology DS418play

Hi,

I installed the media server on my new Synology DS418play and created it as a media server. Over the past few days I have been adding media files to my NAS and sharing them on Plex. This afternoon after installing a number of videos the application crashed and I could no longer access from my package centre. I have tried the following:

1./ Uninstalling and re-installing the app in package centre
2/ Removing the server from my account and then trying to re-install from my laptop
3/ Reviewing the logs for any discrepancies, which I could not find

I am totally out of ideas, I have 1.5tb worth of file including both music and videos but can no longer interface with my NAS.

Does anybody have any ideas?

Does PMS actually start? (Show as running and are processes listed in Resource Monitor)

PMS is shown as running in the package centre, and I can see the process running in resource manager.

When I attempt to push open button from the package centre it doesn’t work.

I have tried reconnecting through my android phone app and it states that it is offline and to check my connection.

I meant connecting to my Plex account through my android phone app to view content, not connecting to my NAS remotely.

Ok… then I would like you to do the following:

  1. Restart DSM
  2. attempt to connect to it again in the app and wait for it to fail
  3. attempt to connect via a browser and observe that result.
  4. If both the app and browser fail, Please:
  5. Settings - Server - Help - Download Logs
  6. Attach the ZIP file it gives you
  7. I will look at what’s happening.

If it;'s solely the app then I will be unable to help you. There are known problems with Android and I’m a server/OS guy (Linux to be specific)

Thank you Chuck,
I will go through your steps.
Cheers
Dave

Hi Chuck,

PMS has been restored when I opened it via another browser. Not sure what I did wrong in the first place but it seems to be healthy again. Thank you for your help.

Regards

Dave

:+1: Glad you’re up and running again.
