I’ve been looking at various posts trying to figure out a fix for a lip sync issue I’ve been experiencing with Plex and Apple TV. Seems to be an issue particularly with DTS 5.1 soundtracks. It is also not consistent. At times it seems spot on and at others seems way off. I first turned off the enhanced player. That seemed to remedy it somewhat. However, what finally worked was adjusting the audio format to “change format” to “on” with the new format then being DD 5.1.
Atmos is not available in this configuration.
Anyway, just sharing this FWIW.
Other posts suggest changing the video output as well. I tested with “match frame rate” both on and off in combination with both audio formats. For me, As long as the audio format on the ATV is DD 5.1, audio is in sync regardless of whether frame rate is on or off.
Still not sure if this is ultimately an ATV or Plex issue to resolve, but it at least seems to work for me now.
