Cheers man for the suggestion
No wrong answers in this! So I’ll give it a shot,
For now I’ve been running the games based on how I’d run them via retroacrh
I’ll give your Idea a go, see what happens!

Thanks @skolli for the idea;
Extracted all the games file into the .z64 files sadly didn’t resolve the issue as much as I wish it did!
Hey @elan
During this process somewhere along the line I forgot to check the pre-installed arcade games;
They too now are returning the same error
[Transcode] JobRunner: exec of C:\Program Files (x86)\Plex\Plex Media Server\Plex Game Transcoder\Plex Game Transcoder.exe failed: error 0x2e4.
As well as the 8005
that’s fairly mysterious, did you change the MAME core?
error 740 is ERROR_ELEVATION_REQUIRED, perhaps it has to do with how you’re running the media server?
As far as I can tell this is all that’s popping up in the Game Transcoder log.

I haven’t touched the Mame core at all;
The plex server is a fresh install on a gaming rig;
I’ve checked all the file permissions and nothing I can tell is blocking the process, unless its a firewall issue.
In Terms of how it was installed its identical to all other plex installs and I’m running one windows based and a linux install
Also note, just checked all firewall aspects;
Nothing is blocking any of the files.
not file permissions per se—it sounds like perhaps it’s having issues starting up because the account running the server doesn’t have admin privileges (but i’m guessing based on that error code).
Not sure to help but here :
Nintendo - Nintendo 64 (Mupen64Plus) - Libretro Docs
I read that extension supported is * .n64 * .v64 * .z64 * .bin * .u1 * .ndd
And in your example, you are using a ZIP file.
Unzip it to try
I try your example to test on CMD directly, and I got nothing

Really difficult
I will use my 7 days trial without launch any game
I have a question, my Plex Media Server is … A server, do we need a Nvidia Graphic card (only the integreate graphic card “Matrox G200eR (Renesas) WDDM 1.2”) ? Or CPU is enough
The account it runs on is the admin account, but I’ll have a look to see if windows hasn’t done something odd.
I’ve also ticked run with administration on the compatibility aspects for the game transcoder
Another user pointed this out as well, but sadly it didn’t resolve my issue
We look for the following extensions inside a zip (we’ll likely add more):
{ "nes", "smc", "a26", "a52", "a78", "sfc", "gb", "gba", "gbc", "sgb", "md", "gen", "z64" }
I’ve checked the account via lusrmgr.msc;
The accounts listed as apart of the admin group; and is the only account aside from windows pre-built accounts
now I’m going to look into the program chain to what I’m aware of;
see if I can find anything that lacks the correct permissions
At this stage in the game, I’ve been trying hard to get this to work;
I’m going to wipe and reinstall today see if that can resolve something;
So far I can’t seem to find any permission or elevated user faults that could cause a permission based issue
So, to resolve the base arcade games getting the 8005;
I found that having the plex game transcoder with elevated status caused issue;
So by removing compatibility option of having it run with admin resolved it for those games;
It seems also this has resolved the 8005 error for the n64 as well;
BUT I will note I did change the file structure alittle;
within the library aspects I named the n64 folder simply n64 in all versions before it;
By naming the folder its full name Nintendo 64 and having the transcoder not in run as admin, it seems to work;
Might of also been the point of complete wipe, reboot and reinstall that could of fixed something as well
interesting
had you added that option at some point, or was it the default?
in any every, glad you’re up and running!
this shouldn’t make a difference, the platforms are detected based on file extensions and not directory names.
At the start I didn’t have Admin ticked for the game transcoder; it was about day 3 I ticked that box;
So maybe uninstalling and reinstalling mixed with the turn off the admin tick did it?
Honestly I’m stumped
