I agree with all the other guys. I’m looking for the same feature. Without this feature Plex is useless for me
Plex team, your client have been requesting this feature for 4 years, it’s a basic function to implement, even your challenger “Video Station” from synology has it. This is the only feature missing to make me switch to plex!!!
Please explain why you don’t do it?

The only reason for me to buy a Plex pass would this particular feature: I have a huge music collection. (44000 titles), well sorted, and quite a large number of movies (1000+). I really like the way that Plex allows me so browse though that and I hate having to use another app (I currently use Plugplayer) just to be able to play music on my Pioneer AVR. Playing over AirPlay is not an option. My Pioneer AVR should just show up as a player in the Plex player list. This works with many apps out there … So why not with Plex. I’d be willing to purchase a Plex pass just for that …
So please Plex team … Can you at least put this on the product roadmap (where is this, BTW?) so that we poor souls out here at least see that you have this on your radar?

I agree: it’s quite some months that everytime I feel ready to make the final switch on Plex, this single issue makes me say “nah!”.
I was quite astonished that I could make this with the “simple” DS Video by Synology and not able to do that in Plex.
There probably are some good reasons, but developers should seriously look in to it.

Another vote for this - strange how it’s part of Emby, but not Plex.
I prefer to use the DLNA on my Samsung for music. Controling DNLA form the Plex app, would be great.
I also would like PLEX to have the DLNA Control Point functionality!
+1 for adding UPnP control point functionality to Plex.
It would be especially great if it could support the OpenHome Media (OhMedia) standard which adds some really useful features to UnPnP including true gapless audio playback, better playlist management, switching seamlessly between control points on the fly etc.

(I have no affiliation with OpenHome, but it is the standard that Linn and some other hifi companies, and I listen to as much music over my system as watch video media sources).

it was not solved. I would also like to control my Yamaha receiver with Plex via DLNA.
