Glad this thead exists!
I came searching after trying many other alternatives to cast from PMS to my upnp renderer speakers
mediahouse, bubbleupnp, allcast all work but it would just be infinately easier to cast from with in a plex app (android, ios, plex/web)
Cheers Rob.
EDIT, Looks like Original Post just Cracked "100" Likes
This would be a great feature. The recent addition of playlist functionality, Plex is becoming a much stronger contender as a full-time audio player on mobile platforms.
Given the prevalence of audio systems like Sonos and DLNA functionality in larger home theater systems, it'd be awesome to select an audio player!
A great example of this on Android is BubbleUPNP!
I've even noticed in the recent Android update, my Sonos system, and other XBMC players are being seeing as "cast-able" devices. You can't actually connect, but it seems that at least the underpinnings for this to work are already there!

Please allow sending and receiving Airplay/DLNA to and from any Device. Receiving with PHT for example works only with Audio.
But it is not working at all to send (for example) synced data from Plex-iOS to a Friends XBMC.
I know you guys want us to use only Plex Software, but this is really a no go. Your Infrastructure should be able to work with at least the two big streaming solutions... and not just with your own stuff.
Ā
Please Plex Dev's go out of your Home (or your Beach behind your HomeĀ ;)Ā ) and visit some Friends. Then you'll notice, that the most People have Airplay/DLNA Devices at home - sadly NOT Plex. So unless i have a HDMI cable, Plex is totally useless on the go....
Ā
Also already requested things like using PMS with VLC or stream to XBMC without PleXBMC would finally work without any workaround. Implementing Airplay/DLNA is not a miracle. So please add this and i think many more people would using some of the Plex Apps, as they already have some non-plex streaming devices at their households.
Ā
It just bothers that i have my whole TV/Movie world in my pocket with Plex-iOS (mostly) and just can't say "hey, lets watch a movie in 1 min" ... instead i have to ask "do you have the motivation to take 10 min time? can you install plex? create an account? then i will have to accept you, share my data and we can finally see a Movie".
... and i tried it. But this results only in doubtful faces - not in watching a movie
Ā
Ā
Ps. just to remember you guys .. thread started in September 2012 ..Ā
After watching how Synology integrated DLNA/Airplay, i think this is the best solution. The Plex-Server has to find and connect all active DLNA and Airplay devices in his network.Ā
After the Server know all his possible clients, the App (Android or IOS) can put the stream to one of the devices known by PMS.

Thats what i am looking for!
kind regards
+1. Good feature. Plex media could cover all devices thru this feature.
+1 just keeping the pressure up on this request
It would be great to cast music to my Marantz Media Player directly from Plex - currently using BubbleUPnP which is a great, but an unnecessary, intermediary.
Really surprised this still cannot be accomplished with media software that prides itself on pushing content to various devices.Ā
+1 I am using at the Moment UPNPBouble but not all Features from Plex are avalible. So I want a Plex App please.

Totally right! This would wipe out the need to create apps for individual TV brands as they're all DLNA capable (pretty much).
For a feature with so many hacky work arounds it seems like Plex are missing a trick here. If Media Browser can do it out of the box, why not Plex which is in every other way far superior?
+1 to this long ignored feature. 1 reply from anyone in power in the almost 2.5 years it's been active

Parental Controls took about if not longer to implement btw... not saying that's the case here.. but feature requests have to be prioritized and take time to implement.
Would like this very much. Ā thanks

Well here's hoping that if it took about this long for that to arise then it won't be too much longer for this. It would really great if the Plex staff were more open about what's on the roadmap...

It will be a great feature.
I don't want to use any moreĀ BubbleUPnP to push my HD audio file on my Pionner Network player N-P01 that support FLAC and DSD.
Plex have a good interface and I am sad to have to useĀ anotherĀ application for my music.
Please ;)
