Plex is shuffling my track numbers.
The track:
name is 02 - NAME.mp3
mp3 metadata is blank for track
musicbrains on the album says the track is #2
if i select the track and hit the pencil it says track 2, so even plex track editor says its track 2
Plex has numbered it track 1 in the album.
The actual track 1 is renumbered to 11 and all the other tracks are off by one (like #2 is plex 1, #3 is plex 2, etc #1 is plex 11).
EDIT: this is incorrect, it seems like they are shuffled by -1 or -2. I cant make sense of the reordering
Ive tried the move it out of the directory, scan, clear trash and bundles, move it back rescan and it still says #2 is plex album track 1
Ok. Didnt fix it. I have “prefer local metadata” and the tracks are named/numbered as the plex docs say and it still gets them wrong.
Infact it couldnt find the artist, even though it got other albums from the same directory correct.
UPDATE:
Different album…
It seems plex is ordering the tracks alphabetically by track title, even though the tracks are numbered on the file system. And it’s starting at 0.
2 albums with tracks numbered. yes they have numbers in the track names but it isnt using those either. The previous album i was having problems with didnt have numbers in the track names so it isnt that.
Can you provide a screenshot of your tag editor showing at least the following tags for some of these files: Filename, Album Title, Track Title, Album Artist, Track Artist, Disc Number, Track Number?
It would also be helpful to see the full path to where these files are, and the path that your Plex Music library is pointing to.
