So I find Plex live TV has a lower audio volume when compared to Channels.

So I find Plex live TV has a lower audio volume when compared to Channels.
Why is this ?
Channels knows the audio blows on live tv?
I dunno - two different things.
If live tv is transcoding in Plex see if the client has an ‘Audio Boost’ - if so enable it at one of it’s settings (low, medium, ludicrous). If not transcoding see if you can change the audio setup for the device/display that makes some difference (like you haven’t tried that already).
Common complaint - not sure what the solution is.
Both are direct play and I’ve adjusted the volume boost with no changes. I’m using an Apple TV.
Boost does squat unless the audio is transcoded.
Yep - common complaint.
No clear solution at hand.
Yep it seems that this has been a problem for a couple years based off my searchs.
Has anyone reached out to support? Is that a thing?
I think support wants us to fix it on our own - and not tell them what we did, but here’s what I did. I stopped trying to watch Live TV.
I’m one of those billions with a tower that broadcasts the audio 30db lower than the industry standard of 89db. I have MCEBuddy convert everything to a compatible format - while jacking up the volume on the audio by 30db. Instant gratification.
Yep, that only happens in post…
The only other thing you can try is to find out which is the worst offender - 2.0 audio or 5.1 audio - then try to find out why. The reason is probably going to be your ‘system’ doesn’t, or isn’t downmixing 5.1 to 2.0 in a manner that is more suitable. How you go about correcting that is… variable… and sometimes elusive.
