Hey everyone, Hoping someone can help—since Friday night, Plex has completely stopped working on every Samsung TVs in my house (all 2025 models, running Tizen). Here’s what happens: - Friday: Watched for hours, no problem on the main living-room set. - That evening: Bedroom TV—click Plex, screen goes black. Wait ten minutes (yes, seriously), it finally loads… then poof, vanishes, back to black. - Saturday morning: Same deal on the living-room TV. Rebooted router, restarted Plex server, cleared caches—nothing. Works fine on laptops, desktops, tablets, phones, all on the same Wi-Fi. Only the Samsungs are bricked like this. I think it might’ve been Plex itself that auto-updated overnight—bedroom one probably first while I was asleep, then living-room after I powered down Friday—but honestly, I can’t confirm. I don’t know the old build number, and now I can’t even get into Plex on the TVs to check the version. It’s just the only thing that lines up timeline-wise. Anyone else seeing this black-screen-then-disappear nonsense on Samsungs or other brands after a Plex update (or whatever it was)? Got a fix—maybe a rollback trick—that isn’t factory reset everything?

Just to let you know, as of 17:30 GMT both of my Samsung TVs appear to be working again. No changes were made by me to get this working, so maybe someone pressed some buttons at Plex support.
Thanks for the update. I’ve been using a fire stick as a temporary fix. while I was waiting for some kind of update and if one hadn’t come I was thinking of maybe using jellyfin. Which I didn’t much like the idea of. But you’re totally right. just tried it on the main TV and it’s working, mind you I do have to reset a lot of settings and put my folders all back in order. so that’s a little strange (as I tried all my plex fixes on other TVs). But it’s working so a round of applause for the plex Devs…
So I think the first thing to do is do possibly disable all updates on the Plex server and also the Plex apps because you know what they say. If it works don’t update it.
I’m having a similar issue. Black screen but only on certain videos; there doesn’t seem to be any rhyme or reason as to which videos either that I can discern. Its across a variety of resolutions, file formats, and audio formats. Everything works on the firestick on the upstairs TV though, and on every other device that I’ve tested. I’ve tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app, restarting smart hub, and messing with all sorts of other settings to no avail. Ended up ordering another firestick.
I keep my smart hub off. I don’t need samsung poking through my personal files. When you uninstalled plex, did you pull the plug out the wall? So the TV clears properly. leave it unplug for 2 to 3 minutes.Plug it back in then reinstall , it does make a difference
